At Turkish lokantas, you can enjoy spectacular displays of locals' favorite plates on the counters. These dishes are testimony of their great gastronomical histories, and are often travellers' preferred choices as you can simply look and point to choose. Similar in style, I serve 35 - 40 daily specials; traditional and original.
Kitchen 5 is a locantas-style restaurant serving mainly Mediterranean food.
Happenings at my small restaurant, experience while travelling etc.

Welcome to Kitchen 5. I am Yuko Kobayashi, the chef-owner of the restaurant.
I opened it back in May 1984, and initially my cooking was mainly Southern French, which was my specialty then. I started taking a long vacation (1 month during summer and winter each), and travelled abroad to explore "Spice Road", which is my main theme for my cooking career. I worked at restaurants, stayed with families, cooked with food researchers ... gradually my specialty expanded to include cooking from other Mediterrenian regions, Middle East, and Latin America.
Poeple used to be worried to see my restaurant being closed for so long, but nowadays they expect me to take a new trip so they ask me "Where are you going next ?"
Seems like I cannot stop, can I ?
So why don't you come and enjoy food at Kitchen 5. Mangia, mangia !
